MILITARY AIRCRAFT USED IN WEST BANK AFTER 21 YEARS

Israeli forces opened live fire and used tear gas and sound grenades during the military offensive, leading to clashes with local residents.

An Israeli military helicopter fired missiles at a residential building during the raid, marking the first use of military aircraft by Israel in the West Bank since 2002, according to witnesses.

Seven Israeli soldiers were wounded in an ambush of an armored vehicle during the raid, according to the army.

ISRAEL CONDEMNED

The raid in Jenin was condemned by many countries and organizations including Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar and the EU.

In a statement released on Monday, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "We strongly condemn the killing of 3 Palestinians, including children, and the injury of many Palestinians in a raid carried out by Israeli forces today in the city of Jenin in the occupied Palestinian territory. We reiterate our call on the Israeli government to immediately cease these unacceptable actions that target Palestinian civilians and could lead to a spiral of violence."

In a statement released by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was emphasized that the raid by Israeli forces in Jenin was a new addition to the crimes against the defenseless Palestinian people. The statement strongly condemned the attack, which killed and injured Palestinians, and warned against Israel's "provocative actions" in the Palestinian territories, widening the spiral of violence and destroying the opportunity for peace.

In a written statement issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the attacks by Israeli forces in Jenin were "strongly" condemned. The statement called on the Israeli authorities to de-escalate tensions and emphasized the importance of regional and international efforts to launch a peace process in the Middle East.

Tensions have been running high across the occupied West Bank in recent months amid repeated Israeli raids into Palestinian towns.

At least 170 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the start of this year, according to the Health Ministry. At least 21 Israelis have also been killed in separate attacks during the same period.
