TCG Kinaliada corvette sets sail to mark 100th anniversary of Türkiye-Japan relations
TCG Kinaliada corvette embarks on a global voyage from Foca to Japan, engaging in naval training and aiding the Combined Task Force's anti-piracy efforts across 20 nations
The TCG Kinaliada corvette set sail as part of the events marking the "100th Anniversary of the Establishment of Relations between Türkiye and Japan" and the "134th Anniversary of the Voyage of the Ertugrul Frigate to Japan."
A ceremony was held for the corvette at the Naval Base Command in the district of Foca, Izmir.
TCG Kinaliada to visit 20 different countries
The corvette will first visit the port of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.
Upon reaching Japan, a ceremony will be held as part of the events marking the 134th anniversary of the Ertugrul Frigate's voyage.
TCG Kinaliada will visit 20 different countries, where it will conduct training activities with the naval forces of those countries.
Commemorative ceremonies at Turkish martyrdoms
Commemorative ceremonies will be held at Turkish martyrdoms in the countries where the corvette anchors.
Furthermore, the TCG Kinaliada corvette will provide support to the Combined Task Force in combating piracy.
The voyage, which will last four-and-a-half months, will conclude on Aug. 19 in Foca.
