North Korea tests new anti-aircraft and super-large cruise missiles

North Korea announced the testing of new anti-aircraft missiles and super-large cruise missiles, aiming to strengthen its military capabilities amid tensions in the region.

According to reports from North Korean state media, the country's missile administration carried out a "power test" on Friday. The test was conducted explicitly on the warhead of the Hwasal-1 Ra-3 strategic cruise missile. Additionally, a test launch for the Pyoljji-1-2 anti-aircraft missile was also conducted. The statement also mentioned that the tests were completed successfully.

North Korea carried out a similar test on Feb. 2; however, the specific details regarding the weapons employed were not disclosed to the public. According to experts, the recent test was conducted using an upgraded version of the weapons that were previously used on Feb. 2.

According to the North Korean state broadcaster KCNA, the Friday tests were routine military development activities unrelated to regional tensions.

South Korea, Japan, and the United States, who often provide updates on significant missile tests detected from North Korea, did not report any mention of a flight this time.
