Turkish land vehicles manufacturer FNSS aims to add the Pars III 6x6 Fire Support Vehicle to its list of achievements

Pars configuration exhibited for first time attracts attention

FNSS, a prominent player in the Turkish defense industry, made waves in Malaysia with its unveiling of the Pars III 6x6 Fire Support Vehicle (FSV).

Specializing in designing and producing tracked and wheeled armored combat vehicles, engineering vehicles, and turret systems for the needs of not only the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) but also allied nations' armies, FNSS focuses on providing tailored, effective, reliable and innovative solutions. They also offer customer-centric warranty and field support services for all their products while actively engaging in modernization efforts.

The Pars III 6x6 FSV made its debut at the Defence Services Asia Exhibition and Conference (DSA) in Malaysia, where FNSS also introduced the Teber-II 30/40mm remote-controlled turret integrated into the Pars III 6x6 vehicle, as well as the Sancak 30mm remote-controlled turret.

During the fair, FNSS' booth attracted visits from high-profile figures, including the Malaysian prime minister, defense minister, army commander, deputy army commander, armored and infantry unit commanders and state sultans.

As the only Turkish company to supply the Malaysian Army with all tracked and wheeled armored combat vehicles and to facilitate significant technology transfers, FNSS aims to add the Pars III 6x6 FSV to its list of successes.

FNSS, with its track record of supplying various vehicles to friendly and allied armies such as those of the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Indonesia, and Bahrain, has achieved export success exceeding $2.5 billion through technology transfer programs and maintenance services.

New configuration of Pars III

The Pars III 6x6 FSV, weighing 25 tons, features a diesel engine capable of reaching speeds of 100 kilometers per hour (km/h). It can maneuver on steep (60%) and side (30%) slopes, cross obstacles up to 70 centimeters high, and traverse ditches up to 175 centimeters long.

The vehicle's balanced design and engine placement result in evenly distributed axle loads, providing features such as smooth movement even on rough terrain, increased road grip at high speeds, and short braking distances. Differential locks on each axle and a central tire inflation system allow the driver to adjust tire pressures for different terrain conditions.

Equipped with the highest wheel clearance in its class, the fully independent hydro-pneumatic suspension system ensures optimal road grip in various conditions for the Pars III 6x6 FSV.

The vehicle can accommodate up to nine personnel comfortably, with doors and hatches, personnel seats, machine gun mounts, and interior lighting designed for crew comfort. The Pars III 6x6 has a range exceeding 800 kilometers and special measures for fuel tank protection against explosions and penetrations. It also includes an armored reserve fuel tank for emergencies. Solid discs inside the wheels enable the vehicle to continue moving even with a punctured tire.

The modular armor system of the Pars III 6x6 allows users to customize the protection level as needed. The design of its body shape, underbelly structure, floor plates, and specially developed mine-protected seats shield the personnel from high-level mine threats.

FNSS Pars

FNSS Pars is the general name given to tactical wheeled armored combat vehicles and armored personnel carriers produced by Ankara-based FNSS. It is named after the Anatolian pars (Anatolian Leopard), a symbol of power. Pars III 6x6 has a maximum loaded weight of 25,000 kilograms and a crew capacity of nine. It has a top speed of 100 km/h on land and 10 km/h on water.  FNSS Pars is actively used by the armies of Libya, Oman, Malaysia and Turkiye. Kosovo is expected to purchase the Pars armored vehicle soon.
