TUBITAK-backed women entrepreneurs attract international investment

Female entrepreneurs supported by TUBITAK are attracting foreign investors to their innovative high-tech projects, bolstering global competitiveness.

These initiatives, backed by international funds, exemplify the success of TUBITAK's commitment to advancing women-led ventures in cutting-edge products and services.

The program aims to transform technology and innovation-oriented business ideas into enterprises with high potential for creating added value and qualified employment.

To date, 2,453 entrepreneurs have been supported within the scope of BiGG, 501 of which are women entrepreneurs.

The 1812 BiGG Investment-Based Entrepreneurship Support Program received 515 business plan applications out of which 161 were from women entrepreneurs. While the female entrepreneur support rate was 10% in 2012, it increased to 31% in 2023.

Among the prominent projects are RS Research's innovative nanomedicine project, TELEPORTER company's metaverse platform specific to gamers, and Nanografen Nano Technological Products' project that transforms carbon produced from waste tires into graphene nanosheets.

Additionally, PHI TECH Bilisim Biyoteknoloji AR-GE AS's bioinformatics platform, which offers artificial intelligence-supported clinical decision-making for health applications, Swatchloop's AI-based waste management platform, aimed at promoting sustainability in textiles, and Plastic Move's biotechnology project aimed at reducing plastic use, have garnered attention.
