Türkiye's automotive sector posted an increase in April

According to data from the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters Association, the automotive industry's exports for April increased by 2 percent, reaching 2.75 billion dollars. Once again ranking first in Türkiye's exports, the sector accounted for 16.8 percent of the country's total exports.

According to data released by the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters Association (OIB), Türkiye's automotive industry exports for April increased by 2.1 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 2 billion 746 million dollars. Once again ranking first in Türkiye's exports, the sector accounted for 16.8 percent of the country's total exports.

The largest product group in terms of exports in the Supply Industry amounted to 1 billion 85 million dollars in April. Passenger car exports increased by 6 percent to 941 million dollars, exports of Motor Vehicles for the Transport of Goods increased by 20 percent to 411 million dollars, Bus-minibus-midibus exports increased by 27 percent to 220 million dollars, while Tractor exports decreased by 66 percent to 61 million dollars.

Germany was the leading destination for exports in the Supply Industry, although exports to this country decreased by 8 percent. There was a 29 percent increase in exports to the USA, 100 percent to Romania, and 38 percent to Morocco. While France, the largest export market for passenger cars, experienced a 47 percent increase in exports, significant increases were also seen in exports to Spain by 17 percent, Germany by 82 percent, the Netherlands by 90 percent, Sweden by 52 percent, Morocco by 349 percent, Italy by 46 percent, Israel by 13 percent, Poland by 22 percent, and a decrease in exports to Slovenia by 63 percent.

In April, France was the largest export market with 400 million dollars, followed by Germany with 366 million dollars, where automotive exports increased by 5 percent compared to the previous year. Exports to the United Kingdom increased by 7 percent to reach 260 million dollars. While significant increases were observed in exports to the USA by 51 percent, Romania by 50 percent, the Netherlands by 29 percent, and Morocco by 90 percent last month, there were decreases in exports to Italy by 34 percent, Poland by 19 percent, Belgium by 17 percent, Slovenia by 48 percent, and Russia by 11 percent.
