Tom Cruise to appear in Alejandro G. Inarritu film

Tom Cruise is reportedly in talks to direct and produce a project to be directed and produced by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, director of the Oscar-winning "The Revenant" and "Birdman."

Inarritu's first English-language film since 2015's "The Revenant", the currently untitled project from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Entertainment is being carried out with great secrecy.

The director is reuniting with his "Birdman" co-writers Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolas Giacobone on a script he co-wrote with Sabina Berman in 2023.

Last month, Tom Cruise also signed a strategic partnership with Warner Bros. to produce the film. This project will be Cruise's first movie in this new era and he will also serve as a producer.

"Legendary" is also expected to be a producer on the project.
