Ukraine says it struck 2 Russian landing ships in attacks on Crimea

The Ukrainian armed forces reported targeting two significant Russian naval vessels, along with a communication hub and additional maritime facilities utilized by the Russian navy in the Black Sea, during early Sunday strikes on the Crimean peninsula, which Russia annexed.

The specifics of the attack were not disclosed in the announcement, but an official appointed by Moscow in the area described a substantial Ukrainian aerial assault and claimed that anti-aircraft defenses had successfully intercepted over 10 missiles above the Crimean port of Sevastopol.

Ukraine's military statement declared, "Our defense forces effectively struck the Azov and Yamal large landing ships, a communication center, and various infrastructure sites belonging to the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the temporarily occupied region of Crimea."

Mikhail Razvozhayev, the appointed governor of Sevastopol by Russia, conveyed through the Telegram messaging platform that the transportation infrastructure, including passenger boats, had incurred partial damage.

"Five out of the six boats had their windows shattered ... The damaged vessels will undergo window replacements during the day and will be operational once restored," he remarked.
