Istanbul Airport has soared to the summit as the busiest airport in Europe for February, according to the latest European Aviation Report released by Eurocontrol.

With an impressive daily average of 1306 flights, Istanbul Airport has outpaced its European counterparts, marking a significant milestone in the region's air travel landscape.

The report unveils Istanbul Airport's dominance, surpassing renowned aviation hubs such as London Heathrow, Amsterdam Schiphol and Paris Charles De Gaulle.

London Heathrow trailed closely behind with a daily average of 1258 flights, Amsterdam Schiphol with 1247 flights, and Paris Charles De Gaulle with 1097 flights.

This remarkable achievement underscored Istanbul's strategic position as a vital global aviation hub and further solidified its status as a gateway between continents.

Daily average of 620 flights, Sabiha Gokcen

Sabiha Gokcen Airport, Istanbul's secondary airport, also made its mark in the European aviation scene, securing its position as the 10th busiest airport in Europe with a daily average of 620 flights. 

As Istanbul Airport continues to ascend as a critical player in the global aviation landscape, stakeholders anticipate further growth and expansion, solidifying Türkiye's position as a pivotal hub connecting East and West.
