TOBB President Highlights Opportunity for Economic Reform in Post-Election Period

Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Turkish Chambers and Commodity Exchanges Union (TOBB), highlighted the significance of a four-year period without elections for the country.

"There are many steps to be taken in the economy, much work to be done; we must focus all our efforts on combating inflation," he stated.

In a written statement evaluating the results of the Local Administration General Elections, Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed his hopes for the results to be beneficial for the country and the nation.

"With the local elections behind us, a four-year period without elections is a significant opportunity for our country. There are many steps to be taken in the economy, much work to be done; we must focus all our efforts on combating inflation. Combating inflation will be more successful in coordination with monetary and fiscal policies. Price stability and financial stability will be strengthened, thus high-value-added investments in technology content will increase," he remarked.

Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized the importance of preserving the country's production capacity and ensuring the sustainability of companies, underscoring the need for effective and resolute steps to be taken in structural reforms.

"Reforms await us in many areas such as vocational education, employment policies, tax reform, increasing the operational efficiency of the judiciary, strengthening institutional infrastructure, enhancing the earthquake resistance of our cities, establishing new industrial zones, acquiring key technologies for our country, and preparing our country for green and digital transformation.

Now, regardless of our political views, it is time to walk towards our bright future with unity and solidarity, respecting the decision of our nation, with the consensus of all 86 million. In the first century of our Republic, we reached the top tier in terms of product and market diversity.

Now, in its second century, it is time to work harder for a more peaceful, happier, and more prosperous Turkey. As the business world, we will work for more production, investment, employment, and exports."
