Air Arabia Egypt launches direct flights to Istanbul from Cairo

Air Arabia Egypt recently launched its inaugural flight from Cairo to Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, significantly enhancing the airport's short-haul network.

The flight's arrival in Istanbul was celebrated with a traditional water cannon salute, a customary gesture of respect and appreciation in the aviation industry.

A special ceremony commemorating this milestone was organized. Nuket Angin, Air Arabia's regional director for Eastern Europe, attended alongside senior management representatives from Sabiha Gokcen International Airport.

A warm reception was held for both cabin crew and passengers, featuring the presentation of flowers and the offering of Turkish delight to guests.

During his address, Serhat Sogukpinar, chairman of the airport's Executive Board, emphasized the significance of connecting Istanbul with Cairo, two major hubs for tourism and trade.

Sogukpinar noted, "With the addition of another airline, our weekly flights to Cairo not only increase but also diversify our offerings," hinting at the expectation of more airlines and destinations being added soon.

Flights to Cairo will now operate thrice a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, thereby expanding the airport's connectivity with Egypt.

Air Arabia Egypt's presence marks the 47th carrier in Sabiha Gokcen's international network, making it the fourth airline offering flights from the airport to Egypt and the fourth member of the Air Arabia Group operating at Sabiha Gokcen International Airport.
