Aksa Energy expands into Kazakhstan with natural gas power plant deal

Türkiye's Aksa Enerji Uretim AS (Aksa Energy) and a Kazakhstan governate have signed a non-binding deal to establish a natural gas combined cycle power plant in the country, as per an announcement on Türkiye’s Public Disclosure Platform.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Aksa Energy and the Shymkent Governorate entails the development of a 500-megawatt capacity plant.

Aksa Energy boasts three natural gas combined cycle power plants in neighboring Uzbekistan, and this MoU marks the expansion of its footprint in Asia.

"Aksa Energy is committed to expanding its presence in Asia," stated a spokesperson for the company.
