Turkish defense leader celebrates $1.8 billion export success with employee bonuses

BAYKAR, a Turkish company that has become a leader in the global defense technology market, has announced a substantial profit-sharing plan for its employees, distributing the equivalent of 18 months' salary.

With its innovative unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) like the BAYRAKTAR TB2 and AKINCI, BAYKAR has cemented its position in Turkish defense and aerospace history.

The company's decision to share profits generously rewards those employees who have committed over 6 years to the company or have held supervisory roles for more than two years.

Haluk Bayraktar and Selcuk Bayraktar, key figures at BAYKAR, expressed their pride in a letter to employees: "We take great pleasure in sharing a portion of our profit with those of you who have been with us on this journey for over 6 years or have taken up responsibilities in our units. We are proud to be your colleagues in this journey and thank you for your dedication and steadfast approach."

On the international stage, BAYKAR continues to excel, positioned as one of the world's largest combat drone exporters. The Defense Industry Directorate recognized BAYKAR as Türkiye's export champion in the aerospace and defense sector for 2023, with the company achieving an impressive $1.8 billion in exports. This figure represents one-third of the sector's total exports, solidifying BAYKAR's critical role in Türkiye's defense export strategy.

BAYKAR has consistently outperformed global competitors from America, Europe, and China, maintaining a leading role in the UAV market. This competitive edge stems from the company's dedication to innovation, which began with the UAV R&D process in 2003. Remarkably, 97.5% of BAYKAR's current contracts are from international sales.
