Maldives will procure a system consisting of a command control station and 6 Bayraktar TB2 for the needs of its security forces. Deliveries of the vehicles have started within the scope of the agreement.

Maldives President Muhammed Muizzu visited Türkiye in November 2023 and met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Muizzu also visited some Turkish defense industry companies during the visit.

Developed by Baykar, the Bayraktar TB2 has become Türkiye's flagship in this field as the world's most exported UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle).

Having achieved its first export success in Qatar in 2018, the Bayraktar TB2 has signed contracts with 33 countries to date. Operating in all adverse weather conditions such as desert heat, freezing cold, snow, and storms in various regions of the world, the Bayraktar TB2 has entered the inventories of NATO and European Union member countries.

With over 750,000 flight hours to date, the Bayraktar TB2 broke Türkiye's altitude record in its class at 27,030 feet. With this flight time, the Bayraktar TB2 holds the title of the national aerial vehicle with the longest operational time.

Having signed contracts with 9 countries for the Bayraktar Akinci, Baykar, which has reached agreements for unmanned aerial vehicles, has reached a total of 34 countries.
