Aselsan opens Santiago office to strengthen presence in Latin America
Aselsan inaugurates its Santiago Office in Chile, marking a strategic move to strengthen its presence in Latin America and showcase advanced technology products at the FIDAE Fair
According to a statement from Aselsan, a ceremony was held to mark the opening of the Santiago Office, aligning with the Presidency of Defense Industries' export vision. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of National Defense Suay Alpay, Türkiye's Ambassador to Santiago Gulcan Akoguz, and other officials.
The office aims to contribute to Aselsan's long-term growth strategy and export potential in Latin America.
'We aim to expand our collaboration for greater achievements'
Speaking at the event, Aselsan General Manager Ahmet Akyol highlighted the significant projects undertaken in Chile, saying, "We offered Aselsan's trust with the value we added in tank modernization projects in Chile. Now, we aim to expand our collaboration for greater achievements. Therefore, while showcasing our products at the FIDAE Fair, which brings together important players in Chile and beyond, we are also inaugurating our Santiago Office."
First local office in Latin America
Akyol announced that the Santiago office represents Aselsan's first local presence in the Latin American continent, symbolizing a strategic move to strengthen the company's presence in the region.
Emphasizing that the office will serve as a central hub for activities in the region, Akyol said: "Our local subsidiary named 'Aselsan Latin America' will enhance our accessibility to business partners in the region by physically establishing our presence. Santiago plays a pivotal role in our activities in Latin America. The opening of our Santiago Office signifies a significant milestone in expanding Aselsan's presence in Latin America and capitalizing on opportunities in the defense sector of the region. With the Aselsan Santiago Office, we will have a greater share in the defense investments of Latin American countries."
Aselsan products showcased at FIDAE Fair
Furthermore, according to the company's statement, Aselsan will present its national systems at the International Aerospace and Space Fair FIDAE 2024 in Santiago.
The fair, open today and hosting guests until April 14, showcases a range of technologies developed by Aselsan, spanning from military communication solutions to avionics systems, radar and electronic warfare products, and border security solutions.
At the fair, Aselsan is exhibiting advanced technology products such as the AVCI Helmet Integrated Control System, UAV payload systems, ASELFLIR-500 Electro-Optical Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Targeting System, TOLUN ammunition, YAMGOZ Short Range Surveillance System, military radios, and PULAT Active Protection System to global users.
