Nine people in Türkiye have been diagnosed with the Eris variant of COVID-19, Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said.
Koca announced on his social media account under the title "A development that is not a matter of concern" that the Eris variant was seen in Türkiye.
"This is a development that cannot be considered a matter of concern. The Eris variant, which we know has a low virulence, was detected in 9 people in our Reference Laboratory. They are foreign contacts and from the same province," Koca said.
“We will continue with the current measures and our daily life. The condition is widespread in other countries, and it is likely to occur in our country as well. We will protect our elders and chronically ill people,” he added.
Experts state that the most common complaint in the "Eris" variant of the coronavirus is the loss of taste and smell, which was also seen in the early days of the epidemic.
