According to AA, Pakistan has opened an important border gate with neighboring Afghanistan on Saturday.

The Torkham limit in northwest of Pakistan and east of Afghanistan was unilaterally closed by the temporary Taliban administration last week.

The Afghan administration announced on Thursday that it will open it again. However, a local official on the border told Anadolu, Pakistan refused to reopen the border.

"Yesterday evening, we temporarily opened the border for the Pakistanites, which were stranded on the Afghan side," he said.

“Finally, we have completely opened the border this morning from both sides for trade, transit and pedestrian movement,” he added.

Last Sunday Kabul closed the border unilaterally. The closing came after the conflict between the two border forces on Monday.

The latest development arrived three days after the meeting on Wednesday in Kabul. As of Saturday, Pakistan opened the border crossing between Afghanistan.
