In the post on the Twitter account of the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "(Sudan) We are closing our embassy in Khartoum for security reasons. Our embassy staff and their families have been evacuated and they are safe. This has been made possible thanks to our cooperation with our partners, especially France. Thanks for their support," statements were included.

Swiss Foreign Affairs, in a statement on April 21, expressed its deep concern about the increase in tension and the death toll in Sudan, and asked the parties to heed the global calls for a ceasefire.

CONFLICT BETWEEN ARMY AND RSF IN SUDAN

Armed clashes broke out between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the morning of April 15 in Khartoum and other cities.

The disagreement between the army and the RSF regarding the military security reform, which envisages "the full participation of the RSF in the army", had turned into a hot conflict in the last few months.

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Sovereignty Council Chairman and Army Commander General Abdulfettah al-Burhan decided to dissolve the RSF, which clashed with the army, and to declare a rebel force against the state, and that it would act on this basis.

According to the World Health Organization, 413 people lost their lives in the conflicts and 3,551 people were injured.

RSF announced that they would implement a 72-hour "humanitarian" ceasefire starting from the first day of the holiday, and the army announced that it would comply with the ceasefire call of international circles in the evening.
