Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the White House and the US Congress after his participation in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York next week, anonymous United States officials said.
It was stated that Zelenskyy will meet with US President Joe Biden at the White House on Thursday next week.
The US Congress is currently debating an additional 21 billion dollars in aid to Ukraine. Some Republicans in Congress argue that aid to Ukraine should be terminated and spending cuts should be made in the federal budget.
During his visit to Washington in December 2022, Zelenskyy addressed Congress and stated that US aid to Ukraine was not a "donation" but an investment in "global security and democracy".
