Could turn into regional war: Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh

Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas' political bureau, warned that if Israel's attacks on Gaza continue, the war could turn into a regional war.

As the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip continue, the head of the Hamas Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, released a video in which he commented on the course of the war in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. Reminding that the United States(US) and some European countries visited Israel for moral support, Heniyeh said that despite all these efforts, the US has not succeeded in gaining regional and international support for Israel in the attacks on Gaza and in getting the Arabs to accept the expulsion.

Haniyeh stated that despite all the pressures, the position of the Arab and Islamic countries on the deportation of Palestinians is very clear and that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Arab League meetings have also emphasized this.

Praising the stance of Arab and Islamic countries, especially Egypt, against the deportations, Heniyye called for supporting this stance.

He added that the US administration has not succeeded in sidelining other fronts and making people believe Israel's lies.

'NO TO ALTERNATIVE HOMELAND'

"We warned that if these brutal attacks on Gaza, destruction and bloodshed continue, it could escalate into a regional war," the Hamas leader continued.

Finally, Heniyeh called on the Palestinian people and the Arab and Islamic world to take to the streets on Friday under the slogan 'Stop the attacks on Gaza, no to deportation and alternative homeland'.

WHAT HAPPENED

Hamas' military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced that they launched a comprehensive attack against Israel called "Al-Aqsa Flood" on the morning of October 7.

While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza towards Israel, armed groups entered the settlements in the region.

The Israeli army also launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of warplanes.

It was reported that 1405 Israelis, including 304 soldiers, were killed and 3 thousand 968 Israelis were wounded in the attacks from Gaza. The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that 3 thousand 478 people died and more than 12 thousand people were injured in Gaza during the Israeli attacks.

In the occupied West Bank, it was stated that 66 Palestinians were killed and approximately 1300 people were injured in the attacks of Israeli forces and Jewish settlers.

The Israeli army hit Damascus and Aleppo airports. As the Middle East is once again turning into a bloodbath, a deadline has been set for nearly 2 and a half million Palestinians to leave the blockaded Gaza.

Most recently, Israel attacked the al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, killing civilians.
