Israeli Defence Minister prepares 3-stage operation plan for Gaza

Israel continues its attacks on the Gaza Strip, where more than 2.5 million people live. While 4 thousand 821 buildings were completely destroyed in the bombardments in Gaza since October 7, it was reported that 4 thousand 137 people, including 1 thousand 524 children and a thousand women, lost their lives.

With this Israel also making preparations for a land operation. Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant spoke to MPs for the first time about the plans in Gaza. Gallant said that they do not plan to control life in Gaza after destroying Hamas.

Gallant said that October 7 was "the day the process of the destruction of Hamas begins". The Defence Minister said that the war in Gaza, which has already begun, will consist of three phases, the first being intensive bombardment by fire support means, followed by tactical actions. The aim of this operation, he said, is to destroy the armed forces in Gaza and render its infrastructure unusable.

In the second phase, he said, fighting would continue but at a lower intensity. In the final phase of the war, he said, a new security regime would be established in Gaza, and Israel's responsibility would be removed.

ISRAEL BUILDS UP ON GAZA BORDER

Israel's heavy military build-up on the border for a land operation in Gaza was reflected in satellite images. It is stated that the military build-up is concentrated approximately 6 kilometers north of the Erez Crossing, the main entry point on the northern border of Gaza. According to Planet Labs' images, vehicles near the Erez Crossing arrived between October 8 and October 14. A number of armored vehicles, including Merkava tanks, armored personnel carriers, and military bulldozers, were recorded in photographs taken at the same location on Saturday.

WHAT HAPPENED

Hamas' military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced that they launched a comprehensive attack against Israel called "Al-Aqsa Flood" on the morning of October 7.

While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza towards Israel, armed groups entered the settlements in the region.

The Israeli army also launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of warplanes.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that approximately 3 thousand people were killed and more than 10 thousand people were injured in Gaza in the Israeli attacks.

In the occupied West Bank, it was reported that 1000 Israelis were killed in the attacks organized from Gaza and 5 thousand people were wounded, 106 of them seriously.

The Israeli army hit Damascus and Aleppo airports. As the Middle East is once again turning into a bloodbath, a deadline has been set for nearly 2 and a half million Palestinians to leave the blockaded Gaza.

Most recently, Israel attacked the al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, killing civilians.
