Salwan Momika, an Iraqi provocateur who has repeatedly attacked Islam by burning the Holy Quran in Sweden, has reappeared. Momika, who is known to have connections with the PKK, this time attacked the Holy Quran by unfurling the flag of Israel, which targets civilians in Gaza.
Iraqi refugee Salwan Momika, who attracted the reaction of both the Muslim world and Türkiye with his attacks on the Holy Quran, organized an ugly attack on the Holy Quran after waving the Israeli flag for a while in Sweden.
Momika, who shouted slogans in support of Israel committing crimes against humanity in Gaza, threw a copy of the Holy Quran on the ground and stepped on it. Momika then took the flag of Israel in Gaza in his hand and kissed it.
Attacks against the values of Muslims in Europe are not the first. The provocations, which started in Denmark with the far-right politician and leader of the Strict Direction Party Rasmus Paludan, continue in Sweden with Momika of Iraqi origin.
In 2022, during the Easter holidays in the Swedish cities of Malmo, Norkopin, and Jonkoping and the capital Stockholm, Danish far-right politician and leader of the Tight Direction Party Rasmus Paludan continued the Quran-burning provocations. Paludan burnt the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm on January 21, and in front of the Turkish Embassy in Copenhagen on January 27.
Salwan Momika attacked the Holy Quran under police protection in front of the Stockholm Mosque on Eid al-Adha in Stockholm. Momika then trampled the Holy Quran and the Iraqi flag under police protection in front of the Swedish parliament on July 14, in front of the Iraqi Embassy in Stockholm on July 20, and again in front of the Swedish parliament on July 31.
On the morning of October 7, the armed wing of Hamas, Izzeddin al-Qassam Brigade, launched a comprehensive attack called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel's long-standing occupation, and the clashes in Gaza grew gradually. Targeting many civilians, especially hospitals, markets, and mosques in Gaza, Israel has so far killed 4,385 people, including 1756 children, and injured more than 13 thousand people.
