Israeli military says ground forces expanding operations in Gaza

Israel warns civilians to 'go south'. Israel's bombardment of Gaza increased as it got darker. Along with the airstrikes organized by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip, it also started ground attacks. Intense and violent explosions were heard in Gaza, which was plunged into darkness. The Israeli military says ground forces expanding operations in Gaza.

On October 7, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, launched an attack on Israel called the 'Al-Aqsa Flood'. Israel responded with the 'Iron Sword' operation. Since then, the death toll in Gaza has reached 8,000.

BIGGEST ATTACK

On the other hand, it was stated that these attacks were the most intense bombardment since October 7. The sky in Gaza, which was dark, was illuminated by the fire of the bombs. The sounds of explosions reached the city of Sderot on the Israeli side.

As airstrikes continued in Gaza, explosions were heard elsewhere in the Middle East.

"14 more of our staff have been killed in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of our staff killed since October 7 to 53," the United Nations(UN) agency emphasized.

ISRAELI GROUND ATTACK EXPANDS

A new statement came from Israel, which has been preparing for a ground operation for a long time. The Israeli Army Spokesperson said that the ground forces expanded their operations in the Gaza Strip tonight. Following this, howitzers shelled the Beit Hanoun neighborhood in northern Gaza. Warplanes then took off one after the other.

Hamas said in a statement that Israel has cut off communication networks and the internet in the Gaza Strip. NetBlocks, a company that monitors internet movements, shared live network data in the Gaza Strip on its social media account. In the data, it was seen that there was a major collapse in the internet connection in the region after the Israeli attacks.

"The aim of cutting off communications and the Internet with the Gaza Strip is to commit massacres against the Palestinian people,"Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh emphasized.

"Gaza has been cut off from the outside world due to intense bombardment. Wars have rules. Civilians must be protected," UN Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator for Palestine Lynn Hastings.
