It was announced that a large number of Israelis were taken into custody in a safe place after hundreds of people stormed Makhachkala Airport due to a plane landing in Dagestan, Russia, from the Israeli capital Tel Aviv, in response to Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip.

"A limited number of Israelis and Jews are currently isolated and under surveillance at the airport. We are working to get them on a connecting flight to Moscow when conditions permit. The Israeli security authorities and the Israeli ambassador are working with the local security authorities." an Israeli security official said in a statement that the events in Makhachkala continued.

The Israeli Prime Minister's Office and Foreign Ministry said they were following the events in Dagestan and expected Russian law enforcement authorities to protect all Israeli citizens and act decisively against attacks against Jews and Israelis.

Videos circulating on social media showed a crowd of people assembled outside the airport holding Palestinian flags.

AIRPORT CLOSED FOR FLIGHTS

Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency announced that Makhachkala Airport was closed to flights due to the incidents and will remain closed until the "situation is normalized".

Hundreds of people stormed the airport in reaction to Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip as a plane landed at Makhachkala Airport in Dagestan, Russia, from Tel Aviv, the capital of Israel. The demonstrators, holding Palestinian flags in their hands, demanded that the passengers on the plane should not be admitted and the plane should be sent back. The demonstrators, who reached the runway by overcoming the security barriers, searched the passengers getting off the plane. While a large number of police officers were sent to the airport, some windows and doors of the airport were broken during the clashes.
Dagestan President Sergey Melikov described the events as a provocation in his statement.

WHAT HAPPENED

Hamas' military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced that they launched a comprehensive attack against Israel called "Al-Aqsa Flood" on the morning of October 7.
While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza towards Israel, armed groups entered the settlements in the region. The Israeli army also launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of warplanes.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that Israel killed over 8 thousand people, including 3 thousand 342 children, 2 thousand women, and 397 elderly people, and injured 20 thousand 242 people in its attacks on Gaza. 
It was reported that 1400 Israelis, including 306 soldiers, were killed and 5 thousand 132 Israelis were wounded in the attacks from Gaza.
The Israeli army hit Damascus and Aleppo airports. As the Middle East is once again turning into a bloodbath, a deadline has been set for nearly 2 and a half million Palestinians to leave the blockaded Gaza.
In the occupied West Bank, 106 Palestinians were killed in attacks by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers.
In Israel's attacks on Gaza, 25 journalists were killed.
In the clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah on the Israel-Lebanon border since October 8, 46 Hezbollah members and 4 civilians, one of whom was a journalist, were killed. Three Israeli soldiers and one Israeli civilian were killed in the attacks organized by Lebanon. 
Most recently, Israel attacked the al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, killing civilians.
