President Erdogan marks 109th Canakkale Victory and Martyrs' Day

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Monday shared a message marking the 109th anniversary of Canakkale Victory and Martyrs' Day.

"The Victory of Canakkale is a glorious saga that subdued the era's most modern armies, inscribing 'Canakkale is impassable' into history," President Erdogan emphasized.

"The sacrifices made by the sons of this homeland and the arduous battles fought by our ancestors in Canakkale hold valuable lessons for us," he said.

President Erdogan's March 18 schedule

President Erdogan began his schedule for Monday in Canakkale with the ceremony organized to commemorate March 18 Canakkale Victory and Martyrs' Day, as well as the 109th Anniversary of the Canakkale Naval Victory at the Martyrs' Monument at noon.

Following the Canakkale events, President Erdogan will proceed to Ankara, where he is set to inaugurate the Ataturk Republic Tower in Kecioren.

As part of his Ankara itinerary, the president will visit the Fourth Corps Command and engage with soldiers during an iftar dinner.
