Good Party Chairperson Aksener announces extraordinary congress

Following the March 31 local elections, in which the Good Party (IP) secured 3.7% of the vote, all eyes are on the party's Chairperson, Meral Aksener, who held a press conference at the party headquarters.

Aksener emphasized the undeniable expression of voters' free will, acknowledging the people's sense of being caught amid conflicting forces.

She highlighted that the electorate's message to the government is profound and must be acknowledged as a duty.

In response to this situation, the party plans to engage in introspection and self-criticism.

Aksener announced plans to hold an extraordinary congress with elections, aiming to align with the electorate's sentiments and chart a future course for the party.

Calls for resignation

IP's Head of Economic Policies professor Bilge Yilmaz, announced his resignation from his position yesterday evening via social media, also calling for Aksener's resignation with the following statement:

"I invite Good Party Chairperson Meral Aksener to resign. We should start working today to liberate our country from the bad and incompetent management of the AK Party in the upcoming general elections. These results have shown that we have a lot of work to do, and we have no time to lose. In order to focus more on the work I will undertake in this direction, I resign from my position as the head of economic policies of the Good Party."
