Turkey shuts border gate after random fire from Syria
Turkish authorities have closed the country’s southeastern Cilvegozu border crossing for exit and entry due to security concerns following random gun fire from Syria's nearby Bab al-Hawa border crossing.

Gunfire was heard at around noon on Monday nearly 500 meters from the area where Turkish trucks transfer their load to Syrian-plated trucks, according to an Anadolu Agency correspondent in Reyhanli district in Turkey's southern border province of Hatay.

No casualties were reported but officials said the border gate would remain closed at least until Tuesday.

Cilvegozu border crossing, which connects Turkey's province of Hatay and the Syrian city of Aleppo, has long been serving as the point of entrance and exit for the Syrians who flee the relentless fighting in their country as well as the trucks that carry humanitarian aid into Syria.
