The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) made statements regarding the spacecraft sent to the asteroid "Psyche" yesterday.
In the statement, it was stated that the vehicle launched from the Kennedy Space Center in the US state of Florida with theSpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket will reach its target in 2029.
After reaching the target, the vehicle will orbit the metal-rich asteroid "Psyche" for two years, taking photographs, mapping the surface, and collecting data.
Laurie Leshin, Director and Mission Officer of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Southern California, stated that this journey will allow unraveling the secrets of how planets form.
The start date of the Psyche mission was initially set for October 2022 but was postponed due to the prolonged security checks.
