David Beckham, one of the leading names in world football, announced his illness, which he has been fighting for a long time. According to the news in GOAL, the legendary player is struggling with 'Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)' disease. Beckham, who said that he kept things flat or in pairs due to his illness, said that he spent hours cleaning and fixing things while his family was sleeping.
Stating that his wife is not satisfied with his behavior, David Beckham said, "I clean so much that I can honestly say that even my wife is not happy with this behavior. I hate going downstairs at home in the morning. Because downstairs there are glasses, plates and bowls. It's also very tiring to walk around to clean up," he said.
Obsession, which means obsessive thoughts and impulses, and compulsion, which means repetitive mental actions and behaviors, form the disease. Obsessions, that is, the ideas, thoughts and impulses that the person cannot get rid of in his mind develop against the will of the person. Even though the person considers these as irrational, because he cannot stop thinking about them, he experiences intense distress and has uneasiness and therefore anxiety.
