According to local media reports, the Syrian family of five children and two parents survived the earthquake in Türkiye last week. They moved to Konya from Nurdağı, which was shaken by the earthquake.

But the second disaster struck the family and their house burned down. Six members of the family died in the fire.

In the earthquake that broke out in the province of Kahramanmaraş in Türkiye and affected ten provinces of Türkiye and northern Syria, more than 41 thousand people lost their lives. The earthquake was described as the “catastrophe of the century”.

Neighborhood resident Muhsin Çakır told Anadolu, “We saw the fire, but we could not intervene. A girl was rescued from the window,” he said.
