There were emotional moments in the Friday sermon read in the Kaaba, the qibla and the most sacred temple of Muslims. Sheikh Humayd, one of the imams of the Kaaba, who prayed for the earthquake victims, burst into tears.
Sheikh Humayd prayed as follows in his prayer attended by thousands of Muslims:
"My Allah, remove the distress, affliction and suffering of our brothers in Türkiye and Syria. May Allah have mercy on those who died, they died under the rubble, accept them as martyrs in your presence. My Allah heal the sick and have mercy on the weak. My Allah, feed the hungry, clothe the bare and naked. Oh Allah, send them a guardian (protector, owner) and send us a helper."
In addition to the Masjid al-Aqsa in occupied East Jerusalem, millions of Muslims who prayed Friday prayers in many Islamic countries prayed for the earthquake victims in Türkiye and Syria.
