The suspect, who was accused of murdering a woman in her 20s in Florida, was said to have killed a girl and a TV reporter hours later. He then opened fire, wounding the girl's mother and photographer as well.
A TV reporter reporting a murder near Orlando, Florida, was murdered with a nine-year-old girl.
The 19-year-old gunman fired at the girl's mother and photographer, injuring them.
The suspect, named Keith Melvin Moses, who was identified by police, was arrested shortly after the attacks on Wednesday, Orange Country sheriff John Mina stated.
Moses was also formally charged in the killing hours earlier of a woman in her 20s, a shooting that the two journalists were covering when they came under fire, Mr Mina said.
The sheriff described the two journalists as a reporter and a photographer for central Florida cable TV outlet Spectrum News 13.
