An explosion occurred in the natural gas depot of a company called Butane in Ahvaz, a province of Iran's Khuzestan province. As a result of the explosion, 2 people lost their lives and 4 people were injured.

Emir Abbas Necefi, Deputy Head of the Red Crescent Organization of Khuzestan province, said in a statement, "At 09:45 am local time, an explosion occurred after the fire in the natural gas depot of the Butane company. Unfortunately, 2 people lost their lives and 4 people were injured in the explosion. The injured, who had burns on their bodies, were sent to the hospital," he said.

'LEAKED TO THE WAREHOUSES'

Stating that the teams were quickly dispatched to the scene after the explosion, Necefi said, “In addition to the fire brigade and medical teams, search and rescue teams have been at the scene since the first moment. The fire in 3 warehouses belonging to the company has been extinguished so far, but the fire spread to other warehouses. Our fire brigades are still working to put out the fire."

Stating that the cause of the fire is not yet known, Necefi said that the final result will be shared after the investigations.
