Former Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced that he contracted coronavirus in a video posted on his social media account towards the evening. Stating that he will stay at home during his illness, Mitsotakis said he canceled his plans.

Mitsotakis made the following statements in the video he shared:

"Unfortunately, I will not be able to go to Mount Athos, but it does not matter, it is always there, I will go another day".

HIS PARTY'S NUMBER OF SEATS IN PARLIAMENT HALVED

Following the general elections held in Greece on May 21, the New Democracy (ND) Party, of which Mitsotakis is the leader, received 40.79 percent of the votes and obtained 146 seats in the 300-seat parliament, but since no party accepted the task of forming a government, the Greek Presidency announced that new elections would be held on June 25.
