Another crisis has emerged between Serbia and Kosovo. Serbian security forces detained 3 Kosovo police officers. Serbia's Interior Ministry released footage of the moment the policemen were detained. Kosovo Prime Minister Alben Kurti stated that 3 policemen were detained within Kosovo borders and described the incident as "kidnapping".
Serbian President Aleksander Vucic also argued that three Kosovars were detained on Serbian territory. "I guarantee that none of the Serbian policemen crossed the administrative border with Kosovo," Vucic said. The Serbian President claimed that the detainees had a list with Serbian names on it. Vucic stated that 3 policemen were waiting for someone.
Following the incident, Kosovo's Interior Minister Xhelal Svecla traveled to the village of Bare on the border with Serbia, where police officers claimed they had been detained. He ordered all trucks with Serbian license plates coming from Serbia to be stopped at the border. He announced that this decision will continue until the detention crisis is resolved.
The day before, Kosovo police had detained Serbian Milun Milenkovic on charges of planning an attack on soldiers of NATO's peacekeeping force in Kosovo, KFOR.
