WHAT HAPPENED

Hamas's military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced that they launched a comprehensive attack against Israel called "Al-Aqsa Flood" on the morning of October 7.

While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza towards Israel, armed groups entered the settlements in the region.

The Israeli army also launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of warplanes.

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the residents of the blockaded Gaza Strip.

"The army will use all its power to hurt Hamas. We will cripple and wreck every place where Hamas gathers and hides," Netanyahu noted.

"Residents of Gaza, leave it now because we will act everywhere with all our (military) might," he emphasized.

"We will win this war, but the price is very heavy. This is a difficult day for all of us. The Israeli army will immediately use all its power to destroy Hamas' ability. We will bring them to the point of destruction. We will avenge this black day they have inflicted on Israel and its citizens." Netanyahu added.

Stating that the Israeli army has cleared the armed elements in the settlements around the Gaza Strip, Netanyahu stated that they are "moving from settlement to settlement, house to house" in this region.
Netanyahu said that he discussed Israel's freedom of action in this operation with United States(US)President Joe Biden and other world leaders.

"this war will take time, it will be difficult and difficult days await them, but they will win the war," Netanyahu stated.

JABALIA REFUGEE CAMP

Jabalia is the largest of the Gaza Strip's eight refugee camps. It is located north of Gaza City, close to a village of the same name. After the 1948 War, refugees settled in the camp, most having fled from villages in southern Palestine. Today, the camp covers an area of only 1.4 square kilometers. 116,011 Palestine Refugees are registered with The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Jabalia camp.
