Türkiye to do whatever necessary diplomatically and militarily in Gaza: Erdogan

| Last update :

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in his speech at the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) group meeting, devoted a wide space to the Israel-Hamas conflict. He reacted harshly against Israel and the Western countries supporting it. He also said that Türkiye would provide political and military support to end the attacks as soon as possible.

Türkiye to do whatever necessary diplomatically and militarily in Gaza: Erdogan

Türkiye is always ready to support diplomatically and, if necessary, militarily to end the Israeli attacks on Gaza as soon as possible, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the AK Party group meeting.

"In a world full of the dead who remain alive, we will continue to shout the truth and take political and, if necessary, military measures. We will do whatever we can. We will not compromise our stance as a requirement of our faith. We will not resort to steps that will not benefit Palestine. We are the Republic of Türkiye with thousands of years of state wisdom behind us," Erdogan said.

"The perpetrators behind the massacre in Gaza are those who give unlimited support to Israel. I appeal to those who encourage them. As long as civilians die in Gaza, the planes and ships sent to our region will not bring peace," he added.

'ISRAEL MUST HEED CALL FOR PEACE'

Erdogan said that Israel should listen to the world's call for peace. He also stated that Israel does not want peace to come to the region.

"Israel does not want peace to come to the region. The dark shadow of war should never be missing over the Eastern Mediterranean. We object to this. We reject this order of exploitation. Al-Aqsa Mosque is the common place of worship of Muslims, Christians, and Jews," Turkish President emphasized.

'CEASEFIRE MUST BE DECLARED'

The Turkish president noted the need for a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel as soon as possible.

"Both the Israeli attacks and the missile launches against Israel must stop. This incident must be ended quickly. You are putting children in cages, what is this. A humanitarian corridor must be established immediately. Entry and exit must be allowed for the wounded," Erdogan highlighted.

'TÜRKİYE READY TO BE GUARANTOR OF PHILISTINE'

Erdogan stated that Türkiye's guarantor role in Palestine is the most effective method to resolve the crisis in the region.

"We are ready to be the guarantor of the Palestinian side with our political and military presence. We propose a Palestinian-Israeli peace conference. Both sides need practical steps, especially our guarantor proposal," he added.

INDEPENDENT STATE OF PALESTINE MUST BE ESTABLISHED'

Erdogan said that an independent Palestinian state must be established in order to achieve peace in the region. Otherwise, he reminded again that this situation would have a negative impact on other countries.

‘HAMAS NOT TERRORIST ORGANISATION'

Referring to Israel's attacks on the Palestinian people, the Turkish President emphasized that almost half of those who lost their lives in the attacks on Gaza were children.

"You will not find a state or an army in the world that continues this inhuman act of setting the streets on fire just to kill children. The West sees Hamas as a terrorist organization. Hamas is not a terrorist organization, it is a liberation group of mujahideen trying to protect their land,” he added.

"I shook the hand of this man called Benjamin Netanyahu once in my life. Of course, they abused our good intentions. We had a project to go to Israel, we canceled it. They abused our good intentions,” Erdogan said and noted that their planned visit to Israel was canceled.

"We propose to organize an 'International Palestine-Israel Peace Conference' in which all effective actors in the region will take part,” he said.
