Türkiye ranks 2nd in sending aid to Gaza, following UAE

Official figures reveal that Türkiye has sent a significant amount of aid to the besieged Gaza Strip, surpassing the contributions of most countries worldwide.

According to data from the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), Türkiye accounted for 19% of the aid entering Gaza, making it the second-largest contributor after the United Arab Emirates, which provided 27%.

Saudi Arabia followed closely with 18%, and Qatar with 8%, as reported by COGAT, an agency affiliated with the Israeli Defense Ministry.

Among the aid provided, Türkiye donated 7 out of the total 74 ambulances allowed into the Gaza Strip.

Türkiye, alongside Egypt and the UAE, has facilitated the evacuation of 3,204 patients and injured individuals, along with 725 escorts, from Gaza for medical treatment abroad.

Since the beginning of Israel's offensive on Oct. 7, Ankara has maintained comprehensive humanitarian aid efforts in coordination with Cairo.

Additionally, Türkiye continues to offer assistance to patients and injured individuals who struggle to access health care due to Israel's ongoing attacks on Gaza, which have resulted in the loss of approximately 32,000 lives.
