Türkish president and his Indonesian counterpart discuss bilateral relations and global developments, with President Erdogan expressing optimism for further collaboration across various sectors

President Erdogan congratulates Indonesian President Subianto on his election victory

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on his election victory and expressed his expectation that the longstanding relations between Türkiye and Indonesia will develop further in the new period in a phone call Tuesday.

According to a statement from the Presidency of Communication, the meeting discussed bilateral relations between Türkiye and Indonesia, as well as global developments.

President Erdogan emphasized that Türkiye and Indonesia should collaborate in various areas, including the defense industry, military, and trade. He also stressed the importance of developing financial contacts based on mutual trust and the interests of both countries.

Erdogan emphasized the importance of continuing their strong alliance on all issues concerning the Palestinian cause and the Islamic world.

He also mentioned that the first meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council established between the two countries should be held at an appropriate time.

During the meeting, President Erdogan also exchanged Eid al-Firt greetings with Subianto.
