Türkiye imposes export restrictions on Israel, sparking accusations from Israeli Foreign Minister Katz against President Erdogan, labeling it as 'trade wars'

Israel responds to Türkiye's decision to implement trade restrictions on Israel

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has accused President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of prioritizing the interests of Hamas over Türkiye's economic well-being.

This comes after Türkiye's announcement of restrictions on exports to Israel until a cease-fire is established in Gaza.

"Once again, Erdogan is putting the economic interests of the Turkish people at risk in support of Hamas," Katz stated.

He further mentioned that in response, Israel "will take appropriate action and compile an expanded list of additional products that will be prohibited for export from Türkiye."

On April 8, Türkiye announced restrictions on the export of certain products to Israel until Israel agrees to a cease-fire and allows for a continuous and sufficient flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
