Turkiye maintains its lead in Group D of the 2024 European Football Championship (EURO 2024) qualifiers, securing the top spot with 17 points from five wins, two draws, and one defeat in eight matches.
Following closely, Croatia secures qualification for Germany with 16 points. Wales concludes the group with 12 points, followed by Armenia with 8 points and Latvia with 3 points.
In the eight matches played, Turkiye scored 14 goals and conceded seven. The sole defeat occurred against Croatia, the only match in the group where the Turkish team failed to score.
Italian Technical Director Vincenzo Montella has been appointed to replace Stefan Kuntz in the national team. In Montella's debut match, Turkiye defeated Croatia with Baris Alper Yilmaz's goal, elevating their points to 13 and reclaiming the group's leadership.
The draw for EURO 2024, which will be hosted by Germany from June 14 to July 14, will be held in Hamburg on Dec. 2.
The opening match of the championship, which will be hosted by ten cities in Germany, will be played at the Allianz Arena in Munich, and the final match at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.
EURO 2024 will feature 24 teams competing in six groups of four teams each, hosted by German cities including Berlin, Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Dortmund, Leipzig, Gelsenkirchen, Stuttgart, and Dusseldorf.
