We will win together: CHP Spokesperson Faik Oztrak

The polls closed in the second round of the presidential election. The first statement from the Republican People's Party came from CHP Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Faik Oztrak. Speaking to the press minutes after the polls closed, Oztrak said, "Now we are at the most critical stage of the election. We will protect the votes, the ballot sacks and the wet-signed minutes."

'WE WILL PROTECT THE WET-SIGNED MINUTES'

At a press conference at the party headquarters, Oztrak reminded that the voting process for the second round of the presidential election ended at 05:00 PM, Anadolu reported. Oztrak said, "Now we are at the most critical stage of the election. We will protect the votes, the ballot sacks and the wet-signed minutes."

Emphasizing that all CHP organizations, especially current and former MPs, are on duty in their constituencies, Oztrak said that they are monitoring the results of the ballot boxes with the data system they have set up at the party headquarters.

Faik Oztrak said, "I say it emphatically, we will protect the will of our nation to the end and we will win."

'DO NOT ALLOW A FAIT ACCOMPLI'

Stating that since only two candidates were voted for, the results will be known quickly this evening, Oztrak said:

"We invite all authorities to act with common sense and do their duties properly. I would like to remind our polling station attendants and observers of their duties once again, you will follow and prevent any irregularities that may occur during the counting. You will ensure that the wet-signed minutes reach the election boards safely.

"You will follow the merging minutes and deliver the wet-signed minutes to our headquarters quickly. You will remain on duty until all these procedures are completed. We also issue a clear warning here, no one should create a fait accompli until the results are finalized. Do not try to muddy the water with balcony speeches."

HE POINTED TO 19.00

"Our nation should wait for our announcement at 07.00 PM. Let our officials and citizens continue to protect the ballot boxes. We have come together and today we will win together. Democracy will win, those who say 'the welfare of my citizens, not my cronies' will win. We will bring spring back to this country in the 2nd century of the Republic."
