Ozgur Ozel becomes first political leader to cast his vote in local elections

Republican People’s Party (CHP) Chairman Ozgur Ozel and his wife Didem Ozel cast their votes in Türkiye's local elections.

After casting his vote, Ozel addressed the press and said, "We thank everyone who contributed to this feast of democracy." 

"We are following the Supreme Electoral Board, and according to President (Recep Tayyip) Erdogan's statement, the election is going smoothly. I urge everyone to remain calm today to ensure that the elections are conducted peacefully and securely.

From the moment the ballot boxes are opened until the results are announced, we strongly advise all citizens to refrain from using weapons, particularly during celebratory events in the event of victory."

Following the voting process, Ozel will return to Ankara and follow the election results at CHP headquarters.
