Supreme Election Council evaluates media ban as voting comes to close

After the voting process of Türkiye's local election held on March 31, 2024, came to a close, the President of the Supreme Election Council (YSK), Ahmet Yener, made a statement, expressing his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives during the election process.

The process of counting votes is underway, and the data is being recorded using the Election Information System (SECSIS) system.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Election Council is sharing all data entries with the political parties simultaneously.

Additionally, representatives of the political parties will continue to monitor the election results in real time on a screen prepared within the institution.

"I wish the local elections held on March 31, 2024, to benefit our country, nation, and political parties," said the President of the Supreme Election Council.

Touching upon the restrictions imposed on media during the elections, the Yener said: "The counting and tabulation processes have begun, and the Council will convene shortly to assess this matter."

The statement was made following the completion of the voting process in Türkiye's local elections.
