Turkish Parliament Speaker hosts iftar with guests from Gaza

The Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Kurtulmus, hosted an iftar dinner for guests from Gaza at the Turkish Grand National Assembly. During the gathering, Kurtulmuş expressed his satisfaction in welcoming Muslim guests from Gaza and shared his hopes for future solidarity between Türkiye and Palestine.

The Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Kurtulmus, stated, "Just as you are guests at our table, we hope to soon be guests at your tables under the flag of free Palestine in Gaza next Ramadan, and together we will break our fast."

Kurtulmus expressed his pleasure in hosting Muslim guests from Gaza under the roof of the Turkish Grand National Assembly during an iftar program held at the parliament, where he gathered with Gazans who have been hosted in Türkiye.

"The main purpose of being together at this table is to alleviate your pains, to show our brotherhood and friendship, and through this, to pray together for our fallen brothers in Gaza, to remember their honorable memories, and to increase our determination to struggle with all our might for the advancement of the Palestinian cause. Our prayer and hope at this table are that just as you are guests at our table today, we will also, hopefully, be guests at your tables in Gaza under the flag of free Palestine next Ramadan, and together we will break our fast," Kurtulmus said.

Numan Kurtulmus also emphasized that the Gaza issue highlights both great pains and human dramas, but it also opens the door to new developments in the world.

"We are passing through one of the most important periods in history. Simultaneously, three significant developments are taking place concerning Gaza. One of them is the commitment of one of the greatest massacres in human history in Gaza, openly committing genocide," Kurtulmus stated.

He noted that the massacres are now condemned by people around the world, stating, "The perpetrators of this massacre in Israel are waiting for the day when they will be held accountable before international courts. I believe that Netanyahu and his gang will soon be brought to the International Criminal Court and will be tried for war crimes, just like other similar fascist leaders."

Kurtulmus described the resistance in Gaza as one of the most important epics of human history, highlighting the courage and perseverance of the Palestinians in the face of adversity.

"The heroes of the Palestinian cause continue to grow, producing new heroes from among the martyrs in Gaza, and the resistance is thus strengthened," he said.

He also addressed the spirit behind this resistance, stating that it is not understood by Zionists and materialistic worldly people. Kurtulmus said, "The father who kisses his child's forehead while pulling him out from under the rubble knows that our brothers in Palestine are waiting for the moment of victory after each martyrdom. They fight with this heart, this courage. Otherwise, there is no other explanation for the great spirit of resistance among the people in Gaza, who have no shelters or walls left to hide behind, but to show courage, endurance, and resilience."

Kurtulmus highlighted the increasing global interest in the Palestinian cause, stating that the events in Palestine and Gaza serve as a guide for all humanity.

"In every corner of the world, despite the pressures of their governments and their support for Israel, millions of people took to the streets to stand by the people of Gaza. This human front that stands for justice, fairness, compassion, and conscience is one of the most beautiful heralds of new searches for a new world. Thus, millions of people who are not like us in religion, language, culture, or civilization, but who come together on the common ground of humanity, have become the owners of Gaza more than the silent majorities of the Muslim world. Hopefully, at the end of this patience, suffering, tolerance, and trust test, there is great good news," he stated.

Kurtulmus concluded his speech by affirming the inevitability of the establishment of a free and sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, recognized by the nations of the world.

He also assured that the efforts to establish peace in the region would continue, emphasizing that a Palestinian state would be established soon, despite Israel's attempts to thwart it.

Following his speech, Kurtulmus engaged in conversations with Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya and the guests from Gaza.
