Uraloglu emphasized the nation's self-sufficiency in railway manufacturing, achieved under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's leadership over the past 22 years.

Uraloglu revealed that the "National Electric Sets," entirely manufactured by TURASAS, are capable of speeds up to 160 kilometers per hour, designed for regional and intercity operations with 3, 4, 5, and 6-car configurations, compliant with international railway standards.

"Each set comprising 5 cars accommodates 324 passengers, featuring onboard restaurants for long journeys. Furthermore, design work for the National High-Speed Train, with an operational speed of 225 kilometers per hour, is underway. Its quality will soon facilitate exports to various countries," he added.

Highlighting the escalating production of train sets at TURASAS, Uraloglu predicted the imminent end of Türkiye's dependency on foreign railway vehicles because of the evolving railway ecosystem.

He pointed out the successful operation of two National Electric Train sets between Adapazari and Gebze, with the third set delivered to TCDD Transportation General Directorate on March 30th, beginning service.

The minister projected 22 more sets by the end of 2025 and a total of 56 sets serving citizens by 2030.

Uraloglu noted the 10-month service of national train sets on regional routes operated by TCDD Transportation, emphasizing passengers' comfortable travels on ergonomic seats.

He disclosed the sets had covered 170,000 kilometers (105633.1 miles) and served 390,000 passengers across 11 stops.

Commenting on Türkiye's railway legacy spanning 167 years, Uraloglu underscored their advancements in high-speed and conventional railway construction and modern train manufacturing, culminating in the creation of the indigenous electric train set as a testament to their progress.
