The Ministry of Trade announces double records in global goods and services exports in 2023, marking historic achievements

Türkiye's global export share hits historic peak at 1.08% in 2023

The Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye announced in an official statement the success of Türkiye's share of global goods and services exports in 2023.

Despite challenging conditions in the global economy in 2023, Türkiye's share of global goods and services exports increased.

According to the World Trade Organization (WTO), data reveals that in 2023, there were double records broken in the share of global goods and services exports.

Türkiye's share in global exports rises to 1.08%

In this context, while global goods exports decreased by 5% to $23.8 trillion in 2023, Türkiye's goods exports recorded a 1% increase to $256 billion despite weak global demand and earthquake disasters.

Thus,  Türkiye's share of global goods exports rose from 1.02% in 2022 to 1.08% in 2023, reaching its highest level in history with a 0.06 percentage point increase.

Türkiye's service exports hit record high of $100.8 billion

WTO data reveals that service exports also reached a record level, totaling $100.8 billion, with a share of 1.3% in global exports.

The statement highlighted regional differentiation in global goods exports, noting sharp declines in import demand in Europe, decreases in North America and a stable trend in Asia.

Global services exports increased by 9% to $7.8 trillion, with Türkiye's service exports reaching $100.8 billion, pushing its share of global exports to a record level of 1.3%.

Ministry of Trade focuses on boosting Türkiye's global share

"As the Ministry of Trade, we continue to work tirelessly with all our strength to increase Türkiye's share in global production and trade with policies and strategies focused on value-added, innovation and competitiveness-oriented production and exports.

We will continue to strengthen our position in the global supply chain by evaluating trends in global trade to maximize our gains," the Ministry of Trade stated.
