Turkish Parliament passes 4 bills on international agreements

Four bills regarding the approval of international agreements were accepted in the Turkish Parliament.

The proposal for the approval of the agreement between Türkiye and Uzbekistan regarding the activities of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in the Republic of Uzbekistan, along with notes, was discussed in the Parliament's General Assembly.

Around 1,900 Turkish companies operating in Uzbekistan

AK Party Bursa Deputy Osman Mesten explained that necessary agreements for cooperation have been signed in all fields, mutual visa exemption has been introduced, and relations have been elevated to the level of strategic partnership based on brotherhood.

Mesten said Türkiye's direct investment in Uzbekistan has reached approximately $1.5 billion, adding: "Our total trade volume has increased approximately 10 times in eight years, reaching the level of $3.5 billion. We hope to reach the goal of $5 billion set by our presidents as soon as possible. We will contribute greatly to the development of relations between the two countries, further strengthening our historical and cultural ties, and fulfilling a historical duty in strengthening relations within the Turkic world."

After discussions, the bills approving agreements between Türkiye and Uzbekistan on various topics, such as the activities of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency in Uzbekistan, law enforcement cooperation, and police training, as well as the Military Framework Agreement between the two countries, were approved.
