After two earthquakes that struck Türkiye one after the other, international aid mobilization began. Political parties and non-governmental organizations in Tunisia called for aid mobilization for earthquake victims in Türkiye and Syria.

Türkiye was shaken by the 7.7 and 7.6 earthquakes that occurred in Kahramanmaras on February 6. After the earthquake, aftershocks occurred in many cities. A 3-month state of emergency was declared in the region. Many Tunisian political parties and non-governmental organizations gave a message of solidarity with Turkish and Syrian people in the statements they published after the earthquakes.

In a written statement made by the Tunisian National Liberation Front, "We express our condolences to the relatives of those who lost their lives and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. We stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters affected by the earthquake in Türkiye and Syria. We express our gratitude to all national and international aid volunteers who helped earthquake victims despite the harsh weather conditions."

In its statement, the Tunisian Judges Association called on the members of the judiciary to assist the earthquake victims through the Tunisian Red Crescent.

The statement included the following:

"We stand in absolute solidarity with the people of Türkiye and Syria, who are facing the serious consequences of this humanitarian disaster. We invite our members and people to make a national effort to provide the necessary material and moral support."

REACT TO THE CARTOON OF CHARLIE HEBDO

French humour magazine Charlie Hebdo had shared a scandal cartoon with the words, "An earthquake in Türkiye. No need to send tanks." Hadri, in his statement about the cartoon, "We condemn the insulting cartoon of Charli Hebdo that incites hatred and racism against earthquake victims" said.

On the other hand, the Tunisian Bar Association, which published a message of solidarity with the people of Türkiye and Tunisia, called for a nationwide aid mobilization.
