The Presidency Directorate of Communications announced that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan engaged in significant diplomatic conversations, addressing bilateral relations and pressing regional issues with key leaders from the Netherlands, Uzbekistan, Iran and Kyrgyzstan.

President Erdogan discusses NATO leadership with Dutch Prime Minister

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke on the telephone with Prime Minister Mark Rutte of the Netherlands.

During the call, the process regarding bilateral relations between Türkiye and the Netherlands and the selection of NATO's new Secretary General were discussed.

President Erdogan conveyed Türkiye's expectations from Rutte – a candidate for NATO Secretary General.

He emphasized the importance of the new Secretary General serving the security and interests of members in combating terrorism and other challenges, strengthening the Alliance's unity, prioritizing NATO's core role and making convincing commitments to the Alliance's fundamental values and established practices while considering the sensitivities of non-EU allies.

In the meeting, President Erdogan stated that Türkiye would decide on this matter based on strategic reasoning and fairness.

President Erdogan discusses bilateral ties with Uzbek President

President Erdogan held a phone conversation with Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Discussions encompassed bilateral relations between Türkiye and Uzbekistan and global and regional issues.

President Erdogan thanked Mirziyoyev for congratulating Türkiye on the recent local elections.

Erdogan addresses Israel's attacks on Palestinian territories with Iranian President

President Erdogan engaged in a phone call with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. Discussions centered on bilateral relations between Türkiye and Iran, as well as the humanitarian situation in the region, particularly regarding Israel's attacks on Palestinian territories.

President Erdogan stressed the importance of the United Nations Security Council swiftly implementing a cease-fire resolution in Gaza and emphasized the necessity for unity among Palestinian factions.

He also highlighted the need for collaborative efforts to counter Israel's efforts to escalate tensions in the region.

President Erdogan discusses bilateral Relations with Kyrgyz President

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also spoke with President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan.

During the call, they discussed bilateral relations between Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan and global and regional issues.
